About CRG Stewardship

Candido Gomez & CRG Stewardship

Lighting the Way to Financial Stewardship

Candido’s professional career began in 1996 as a marketing assistant in the marketing department of a small HMO. In 1997, he was recruited to New York Life, where he gained experience with life insurance, mutual funds, and annuities and began a career focused on helping educators and public employees better understand their financial options.

Over the years, Candido’s professional experience has included insurance, employee benefits, financial education, and tax services. His earlier career also included experience with securities and investment-related products. That experience is part of his professional background; today, his work through CRG Stewardship focuses on financial education and coaching, tax preparation and planning, and the insurance solutions he is appropriately licensed to provide. CRG Stewardship does not provide individualized investment advice or manage investment assets.

In 2023, Candido launched CRG Insurance Solutions, CRG Financial Coaching, and CRG Tax Solutions, which together define the CRG Stewardship brand. This expansion was driven by his commitment to providing a higher level of personal attention—moving beyond transactional services to build meaningful, long-term relationships with the individuals, families, and business owners he serves.

A Philosophy of Action

Candido believes in keeping things simple. While people may excel in their own professions, navigating taxes, insurance, cash flow, debt, and other financial decisions can quickly become complex. He often shares a core conviction: “Good intentions are not good enough; you need action to back them up.”

That philosophy shapes the CRG Stewardship approach. Rather than viewing financial decisions in isolation, Candido helps clients better understand how areas such as cash flow, debt, taxes, and insurance can interact with their individual goals and circumstances.

The goal is clarity: helping clients become better informed, more organized, and more intentional about the resources entrusted to them.

A Career of Service

As a bilingual Benefit Counselor and Team Lead, Candido spent years traveling across the country—from California to New York—helping employees understand core and supplemental benefits in both English and Spanish.

That experience revealed a recurring challenge: many families were paying for employer-offered benefits they did not need or could not comfortably afford while also trying to balance everyday expenses, liquid savings, and long-term financial goals.

Today, his passion remains “lighting the way” through education. His work includes helping clients better understand life and health insurance, lawful tax-planning opportunities, debt reduction, cash-flow considerations, and important financial decisions surrounding different seasons of life.

Faith and Family

Candido is the proud husband of Diana, a public school teacher of more than 20 years who comes from a long line of dedicated educators and administrators. He has two daughters—one pursuing a nursing degree and the other a master’s degree in professional counseling—and a hardworking son-in-law who is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

When he is not in the office, you may find Candido serving on the Worship Team at Rock City Church, hosting “Housefire” small-group gatherings at his home, or cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

At the heart of Candido’s work is a desire to equip people with education, clarity, and practical next steps so they can approach their financial decisions with greater confidence, wisdom, and intentionality.

Small Beginnings & Strong Roots

Born and raised in Gregory, Texas, Candido Gomez grew up in a family where his mother, a loving homemaker, and his father, a hardworking mechanic, instilled in him his work ethic and the value of prioritizing one's time. After graduating as valedictorian from a church-led private school in 1990, he began his college coursework at Del Mar College while simultaneously entering the hospitality industry. His dedication was evident early on; during a five-year tenure at a downtown Corpus Christi hotel, he earned three promotions with sights set on senior management. However, a call to ministry shifted his path, leading him to serve as a Youth Director and Worship Leader before earning his B.A. in Biblical Studies and Theology from the Minnesota School of Theology.
